Annual Radio Event

Each year we celebrate our anniversary with an event called "Mission Integrity".  We invite people to come at visit us at a location we rent.  They come for several different reasons: to meet us in person, to thank us, to share a burden, to give an offering, or to see what new materials we may have.

Many  donate items to the radio ministry.  These items are placed on display for others to purchase.  Both the one who brngs an item and the one who purchases it contribute to the radio ministry to keep the Word of God on the air 24/7.  The event runs sort of like a share-a-thon that runs for two days.  One difference is that we actually have a location where we go and meet the people.

We have two pastors who come to the studio to help us with the live broadcast.  We take live calls from listeners all day.  Pastor Látimer is in the forefront of this picture.

Many arrived early and lined up to come in.  These are the first to arrive.

We have many nice items that our listeners donate.  This is the shoe section.

People from different churches donate their time to come to help wait on our listeners.

Most of the helpers are from our church.  This is a great opportunity for them to serve Christ.

Pastor Edward is Stan's associate.  We began the radio ministry together.

Pastor Edward runs many things at once: emails, cell phone, land line phone, Face book and the coordination of the computer programing all while on the air.  Only someone like him could do this!

Pastor Edward greets a listener.

Before we could even get started, the local mayor tried to close us down because of complaints from neighbors.  As it turned out, it had nothing to do with us.  It was a dispute between the mayor and the neighbors with our event being the battleground.  God worked it all out for His glory.

At the very beginning we huddled together to pray and give the event to the Lord.  In the far background are listeners who came early before we were ready.  After we prayed, they sang "Happy Birthday" to the Radio Ministry for completing 5 years of existence.

Stan signed a lot of devotional books.

Ruth with Judith.  Our servants come in all sizes.

One of our younger listeners interested in the stuffed toys.

A lady in her wheel chair made the sacrifice to visit us.

Our workers have fun serving.

The smiles say it all.

We rented a soccer court for the event.

Meeting our listeners is one of the biggest blessings of the radio ministry.

High Point Baptist Chapel Team Visits Peru

Pastor Steve Jaspers and six other members from High Point Baptist Chapel in Geigertown, PA came to minister to us.  It was a joy to receive them and we had fun serving our Lord together.

Debbie reads to Benjamin and Grace, the children of Katie, an American lady who lives in Lima.  Her children speak English.  Katie is good friends with Ruth.

The group at Fountain Park in Lima.  From left to right: Tim Kolb, Pastor Steve Jaspers, Debbie Marshall, Melissa Snyder, and Bev, Kaitlyn and Keith Sensenig.

We went on a boat ride in the Pacific Ocean.

The group with the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the background.  Taken on their last day in Lima.

Playing family and table games was one of the many fun things we did.

Keith Sensenig, Tim Kolb and Pastor Steve Jaspers found themselves a good hat to buy at the Indian market.  Ruth had them put on a rediculous look to stage a picture.  If they see this picture, they have Ruth to blame.

The group ministered in three different churches.

Kaitlyn and Melissa fed pelicans.

It was a special treat for Ruth when one of her good friends, Debbie Marshall, came with the group.

Pastor Steve preached the Word of God five times.  He has such a servant heart.

Missionary Allan Frey (left) translates for Keith.  Keith has an amazing testimony of how he came to Christ.

We want to express a special thanks to High Point Baptist Chapel and the family members of the team who stayed behind for sacrificing and sending the team to serve us.  What a blessing they were!

New Secretary at Radio Ministry

We are pleased to announce that beginning in January Carol Alvarado will be joining our radio staff team.  She will become our new full time secretary.

Carol is a member of Light Baptist Church here in Lima.  Her pastor and pastor's wife are long time friends.

Carol brings many skills with her for the administration/secretary job and we are thrilled she is joining our staff.

Mayra, our present secretary will be greatly missed.  We cannot speak highly enough of her labor in the Lord.  She was so faithful and such a blessing to everyone.  Mayra is returning to Trujillo to serve in our Seminary there.

Teaching in the City of Huancayo

Stan was recently in Huancayo to teach a modular course on counseling.  It was a great week and the students showed great interest to learn more of God's Word.

Part of the group who attended the modular course.

One lady who came is a psychiatrist.  She was soaking up the Word to apply God's principles over human reasoning.  Several pastors also attended.

Pastor Pedro and his wife, Iris.  A godly couple who attended the modular.

While there, Stan stayed in the home our missionary Samuel and Fiorela Vega.  There are a great couple and are just getting started in a new church plant.
Missionary Samuel Vega, wife Fiorela and daughter Tirsa.

Our church in Lima just took them on as our missionaries.  They are our second missionary family that we have begun to support on a monthly basis.

This is Tirsa, Samuel and Fiorela's daughter.

The Vegas have rented a school and hold services there.  They are beginning from scatch.

Josué Lara is a recent graduate of the Seminary in Trujillo.  He has a vision to begin a new seminary in the Huancayo valley.  Years ago, I taught his father, José.  They now work together as a father/son team starting a church in a very idolatrous town called Concepción.

It was a great week ministering in Huancayo.  It is our prayer that the work will grow in this city and in the surrounding areas.

New Granddaughter

The Lord recently blessed our family once again with the arrival of little Alina to Jonathan and Lorena Templeton.  She was born on August 29.
Lorena and Alina are both doing well.

Just hours old.

She is soooo tiny!

The whole family.  Jon and Lorena serve as missionaries in Spain.  This is their second child and our ninth grand child.

Mom shows Norah her new baby sister.  This will be a big change for Norah.  She has been practicing being big sister with her dolls.

Kent and Belén Albright (Lorena's parents) are also missionaries in Spain where Jon and Lorena also serve.  They took care of Norah while Lorena was in labor.  We praise the Lord they were there to help.
Here is Granpa Kent with Norah having lots of fun.

Calvary Baptist Church - Lansdale, PA Visits Peru

In August, our sending church sent a team of 20 to help us with the remodeling of the staff house.

Julie was a hard worker with the jack hammar.

The work was hard!  Jarrod shows how it is done while Jennifer enjoys wathing.  We don't think we have seen a happier group.

Tyler fills a bag with rocks and dirt.  Etel, our associate pastor's wife is holding the bag.  She was one of the carriers.

Andie was one of our many of our dump trucks.  They must have hauled off tons of rock and dirt.  All with a big smile and a servant heart.

Bill Hulshizer and John Yowell worked with Sam Deninna and Wilfredo on the plumbling and water lines replacing the old system in the house.

They hauled rocks, dirt, sand, and gravel, put the new cistern in place, and dug some deep footers.

They made a lot of new friends.

They squeezed in a soccer game in the middle of the week with Peruvian believers - both the guys and the gals played on two separate fields.

At the end of the week, it was time to snap some pictures and head off to do some sightseeing.  They went on a boat ride around an island in the Pacific Ocean and then hiked up a mountain.  They also tried new Peruvian foods such as raw fish.

Riley feeds pelicans some fresh fish.

They went to a beautiful water fountain park in the night.

They made everything fun wherever they went and whatever they did!

At the churches they visited, they gave out candy to the people.  This was a big hit.

They sang a special in the chuch service.

Our church is packed on Sunday.

We have no place to put more people.

Pastor Troy preaches as Stan interrupts (interprets).

On the last day of the trip, Konrad (pictured) got sick.  He had to wait 3 more days before he was well enough to travel.  John Yowell stayed behind to fly back with him.  John was a big help during those days.  Konrad is better.  We continue to pray for his health.  What a godly young man he is.

They were such a blessing to us!  We miss all of you so much!
